Louis Vuitton and Cartier Love Grows In China

A recent survey by Ruder Finn Asia among consumers revealed that when it comes to luxury goods the Chinese prefer the brands Louis Vuitton and Cartier. As a result, there has been a steady growth in sales of these famous name brands in the last four months. The highest of which is by at least 15%.

This survey proves very significant as it shows the importance of sustaining the growth of luxury brands in the market. According to one director of a market research company, Christopher Cais — “The brands need to understand they need to pay the same level of importance to the second-tier cities as they do for the first-tier cities. We don’t see any sign that this market is going down.”

The survey was done among 1,000 consumers who indicated that Louis Vuitton is the top choice for fashion and accessory while Cartier for jewelry and watches.

The survey was done in April and May of 2009.
